MAKI Maki, or rather, makizushi, means sushi roll. This variety is made by spreading the rice on sheets of dried seaweed (nori), with fish, vegetables or fruit and then rolling everything.
The rice is surrounded with a thick strip of seaweed to form a hole that is filled with a spoon with the chosen ingredients. The seaweed is carefully placed to surround the previously kneaded rice ball rather than making a roll.
